April Showers bring May .... Puppies?

Spring has sprung! It's true. My crocuses told me and they know everything. 

And that means it is the season for Ciara Oneal's and Kaitlyn Sanchez's contest Spring Fling Kidlit. Enter HERE by April 3rd with your gif-inspired story for children under 150 words. 

Inspired by this fun and furry gif, I tackled the idiom "It's raining cats and dogs."

Raining Cats and Dogs

What in the whiskers—

It’s raining. It’s purring?
Drizzling dalmatians…
A pet storm’s occurring!

With thunderous barking
this weather is nuts.
It’s showering kittens
and pouring down mutts.

Who needs a raincoat?
These rainpups aren't wet. 
I flip my umbrella
to catch a new pet.

Kids stream outside
to adopt furry friends.
When each has a home,
the storm finally ends.

The cloud doesn’t cause
a street full of puddles—
just floods us in kisses
and oodles of cuddles.
